1. Who We Are
Remio is operated by Peakaso s. r. o., a Slovak limited liability company with its registered address at Farská 1342/50, 949 01 Nitra, Slovakia, Company ID: 56114044.
Peakaso s. r. o. is the controller of personal data processed for Remio's own purposes. An embedded game, advertising partner, authentication provider, or other third party may act as a separate controller for its own processing.
Remio operates remioplay.com, a browser-based gaming portal where visitors can discover and play free online games without downloading software or creating an account.
For privacy questions, requests, or complaints, contact us at contact@remioplay.com.
2. Information We Collect
We collect limited information needed to operate the site, measure game performance, protect the service, and respond to messages.
We receive information directly from you, automatically from your browser and requests, from games and features you interact with, and from service providers such as hosting, authentication, analytics, security, advertising, and game-distribution partners.
- Usage data: pages viewed, games opened, play events, likes, dislikes, approximate time of interaction, referring pages, browser type, device information, and general location inferred from IP address.
- Technical data: IP address, user agent, request headers, error data, security logs, and rate-limit signals.
- Cookie and storage data: the Remio visitor cookie, local browser preferences, and similar identifiers described below.
- Contact data: email address, message content, and any details you choose to send when contacting Remio.
- Account data: if account features are enabled and you register, we process details such as your email address, display name, authentication records, and saved account state.
- Game submission or business data: developer, advertising, rights, takedown, or game-submission information you voluntarily send to us.
3. Cookies and Local Storage
Remio uses first-party cookies and browser storage for service integrity, preferences, player-requested features, accounts, and—when permitted—analytics. Some embedded games, authentication services, analytics providers, advertising partners, or consent providers may use their own cookies or similar technologies.
Strictly necessary technologies support security, authentication, consent records, rate limiting, requested game features, and service operation. Preference technologies remember choices you make. Analytics and advertising technologies are used according to the privacy choice and legal basis applicable to you.
Where consent is required, optional analytics and advertising storage is not enabled until a choice permits it. You can change your decision through the “Privacy & cookie settings” control in the footer. Browser controls can also delete or block stored information, although strictly necessary or player-requested features may then stop working correctly.
4. How We Use Information
- Provide, maintain, and improve Remio and its game pages.
- Count plays, likes, dislikes, and trending signals.
- Remember interface preferences, such as sidebar state.
- Detect abuse, rate-limit requests, prevent fraud, and secure the service.
- Review game submissions, DMCA notices, support messages, advertising inquiries, and business communications.
- Understand performance, diagnose errors, and improve search, recommendations, categories, and game discovery.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our rights.
5. Legal Bases for Processing
Where European or similar privacy laws apply, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases: performance of a contract or steps requested by you; our legitimate interests in operating, securing, measuring, defending, and improving a gaming portal; consent for optional device storage, personalized advertising, or other processing where consent is required; and compliance with legal obligations.
Our legitimate interests include preventing fraud and abuse, keeping games available, measuring aggregate service reliability, maintaining rankings and statistics, responding to requests, and protecting our users, partners, and legal rights. We assess these interests against the rights and reasonable expectations of users. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests as described below.
Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal. It also does not prevent processing that is necessary for the service you request, required by law, or supported by another valid legal basis.
6. Embedded Games and Third Parties
Some games on Remio are loaded in embedded iframes from game developers, game distribution platforms, or other providers. When you start or load those games, the third-party provider may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser details, device information, and interactions inside the game.
Third-party games and services may have their own privacy policies, cookies, advertising SDKs, analytics, age gates, multiplayer features, purchases, or account systems. They may receive the consent signal made available through the applicable consent framework. Remio does not determine every purpose or retention period used by a separate provider. You should review the privacy information offered by the game or provider when available.
Access to gameplay is not conditioned on agreeing to optional Remio analytics. A game iframe may load when its game page or player is opened, including before or without an applicable initial privacy decision. Loading it sends normal network information to the game provider. Remio limits its own analytics as described below, while the game provider remains responsible for its processing, applicable consent signals, and legal obligations.
7. Advertising and Analytics
Remio uses advertising to help fund free access to games. Third-party vendors and advertising partners, including Google, may use cookies or similar technologies to serve, secure, limit the frequency of, and measure ads. When permitted, Google and its partners may use information about visits to Remio and other sites to provide personalized advertising.
If personalized advertising is declined or unavailable, Google or another eligible provider may serve limited or non-personalized advertising. Such advertising may still use limited information for purposes such as fraud prevention, security, frequency control, aggregate reporting, or contextual ad selection where permitted.
If we use consent-based advertising or analytics in your region, we will present the required choices before using optional technologies. If analytics storage is declined, Remio limits measurement to short-lived, cookieless operational events used to count aggregate traffic, game starts, availability, and performance. This limited mode does not store an IP hash, user-agent hash, persistent analytics identifier, cross-page attribution, or retention profile.
When analytics storage is permitted, Remio may use a pseudonymous browser and session identifier to measure funnels, attribution, return activity, and game performance. Remio does not use this identifier to learn your real-world identity.
The Google consent message identifies the Google and third-party ad technology providers selected for Remio and provides purpose-level controls. You can reopen it from the footer. You may also use Google Ads Settings, browser controls, device privacy settings, and industry opt-out tools where available.
8. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information for money. We may disclose information to service providers and partners that help us host, secure, authenticate, analyze, monetize, operate, or improve Remio. Some privacy laws may define certain targeted-advertising disclosures as a “sale” or “sharing”; where those rules apply, you can exercise the available opt-out through our privacy settings or by contacting us.
- Hosting, database, storage, security, and infrastructure providers.
- Game developers, game distribution partners, and embedded game providers when their content is loaded.
- Analytics, advertising, fraud-prevention, and measurement providers where used.
- Google and the ad technology providers displayed in the Google consent message, according to your choices and applicable law.
- Professional advisors, legal authorities, or rights holders when required to comply with law, enforce policies, respond to valid legal process, or protect rights, safety, and security.
- Successors in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets.
9. Data Retention
We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required by law.
- The remio_visitor_key cookie is set for up to 12 months unless you delete it earlier.
- The optional remio_aid analytics cookie and matching local-storage identifier are set for up to 12 months when analytics storage is permitted.
- Session identifiers expire with the browser tab; recommendation attribution stored in the tab expires after approximately 30 minutes.
- Raw analytics events are intended to remain in hot storage for a limited operational period, generally 30 to 90 days, before deletion or aggregation, subject to implementation, security, and legal needs.
- Game play and reaction records may be kept in pseudonymous or aggregate form to maintain game statistics, rankings, abuse prevention, and site analytics.
- Server, security, and rate-limit logs are kept for a limited period based on operational and security needs.
- Support, business, legal, DMCA, and game-submission messages may be retained as needed to handle the request and maintain records.
10. Children and Young Players
Remio is a general-audience website and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly ask children under 13 to provide personal information. If you are under the age required by your country to use online services independently, use Remio only with permission from a parent or guardian.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to Remio, contact contact@remioplay.com and we will review and delete the information where required.
11. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal data about you. You may also have the right to withdraw consent or complain to a data protection authority.
- Contact contact@remioplay.com to make a privacy request.
- Use the Privacy & cookie settings control in the footer to withdraw or change an advertising and analytics choice.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests, including limited operational analytics, and explain your particular situation where required.
- Where applicable, opt out of targeted advertising or the sale or sharing of personal information and appeal a refusal of a privacy request.
- Delete or block cookies through your browser settings.
- Use private browsing, device privacy controls, and advertising preference tools where available.
- If a game is provided by a third party, contact that provider for data handled inside the game.
12. International Transfers
Remio is available globally. We and our service providers may process information in Slovakia, elsewhere in the European Economic Area, the United States, and other countries where our providers operate. Those countries may have different data-protection rules.
Where required, transfers rely on an adequacy decision, contractual safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, participation in an applicable recognized transfer framework, or another lawful transfer mechanism. You may contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your data.
13. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we work to limit collection, use hashed visitor identifiers for game statistics, and restrict access to operational systems.
14. Automated Processing and Do Not Track
Remio may automatically rank, recommend, categorize, or personalize games using aggregate popularity, recent activity, device compatibility, categories, preferences, and—where permitted—pseudonymous usage signals. These features are intended to organize entertainment content and do not produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
Browsers do not provide a universally accepted Do Not Track standard. Remio therefore responds to the privacy choices available through its consent interface and to legally recognized signals where implemented and applicable.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Remio changes. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated date. Material changes may be highlighted on the site where appropriate.
